MediTravel

MediTravel was launched in 2004 as the inbound medical travel arm of Holiday Tours and Travel, established in Malaysia in 1974. MediTravel receives patients from Australia, Canada, Indonesia, Ireland, New Zealand, the UK, and the US, and sends them to such facilities as Prince Court Medical Center, Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur, Assunta Hospital, and Kuala Lumpur Sports Medicine Center. Between 2007 and 2010, the agency served approximately 180 patients. Its personnel speak English as well as Bahasa Malaysia, Bahasa Indonesia, Cantonese, Mandarin, and Tamil. All medical specialists associated with Meditravel speak and write fluent English, as the majority studied, trained, and obtained board certification in the UK.

The agency’s standard package comprises initial and followup communication, including initial inquiry, quotation, hospital and doctor information, and pre-operative consultation; travel and itinerary planning services, including flight tickets, hotel accommodations, and scheduling all pre- and post-surgery appointments; in-country concierge services, including meet-and-greet, all airport-hotel and hotel-hospital transfers, and escort to appointments; post-operative visits and services; and arrangements for tours.

Payment for all medical services is made directly to the hospital or physician, not to Meditravel; the agency accepts payment for nonmedical travel services only.
