BNH Hospital

Founded in the nineteenth century, BNH is one of Thailand’s oldest healthcare facilities and was the first international hospital in Thailand. More than 75,000 international patients visit BNH annually from 150 different countries. The hospital has nearly 440 physicians from every medical service area. Specialties include the Spine Center, Women’s Health Center, and the International Travel Medicine Clinic. The Preecha Aesthetic Institute is also housed within BNH.

BNH operates a special center for spinal and orthopedic surgery. Since opening in 2005, the Spine Center has performed over 200 complex surgeries, nearly half of them for international patients. The surgical team has also implanted over 100 disc prostheses, a rate higher than some centers in the US or EU. The center’s total artificial disc replacement is a minimally invasive surgery; the patient experiences less blood loss and significantly less pain. Early ambulation leads to fewer complications, shorter length of stay, and faster return to work and a normal life.

With typically a 70–80 percent cost saving compared to what patients can negotiate from a US and EU hospital for a similar procedure, the success rate runs an impressive 90 percent, well above international averages of 60–70 percent.
