A subsidiary of the US-owned International Hospital Corporation, this 52-bed hospital has been attracting Americans from Arizona and California since it began operation in 1996. Hospital CIMA Hermosillo's more than 600 physicians offer service in cardiology, neurosurgery, orthopedics, gastroenterology, weight-loss surgery, and cosmetic surgery.

In 2005 the hospital installed a magnetic resonance imagery (MRI) Philips 1.5 unit, allowing its doctors to perform highly specialized procedures, such as cerebral angiographies. Other diagnostic imaging technologies available include CT (computed tomography) and ultrasound.

CIMA Hermosillo sees more than 16,000 patients every year, many of whom visit for weight loss surgery, arthroscopic surgery, and cardiac catheterization. CIMA Hermosillo was accredited by JCI in 2008. Other CIMA hospitals are located in Monterrey and San José (Costa Rica).

The CIMA group of hospitals has a centralized international patient services unit for all CIMA facilities, where services such as airport transfer, booking of appointments, transportation during hospital stay, language interpretation, as well as concierge services are provided.
