Gastric Sleeve

Vertical sleeve gastrectomy, also called sleeve gastrectomy or gastric sleeve resection. The surgeon removes or staples off a large portion of the stomach, creating a tube-shaped “gastric sleeve.” The procedure reduces food intake because the stomach is smaller. It’s possible also, that the sleeve procedure decreases production of the hunger hormone ghrelin.
